PROFESSIONAL START

Your trainee
program for business

In our IT projects, business consultants form a key interface
to our customers. We prepare you for a career in consulting
and for a key role in projects!

PROFESSIONAL START for business lays the basis for your role as a business consultant over the course of twelve months. The primary focus of the program is to make sure you are perfectly prepared for working with customers including on-site work.
The following describes what you can expect as a business trainee and which fields you will be able to get started in.

The first phase of PROFESSIONAL START is organized into two modules. The first is the base module and is designed for all trainees regardless of which focus they have chosen.

Profile module for the business program

Upon completion of the base module, PROFESSIONAL START branches into the profile module for either IT or business.
As a trainee in the field of business, you and your fellow business trainees will participate in special modules that are tailored to the direction you have chosen. During this phase, you are given the basic IT knowledge you will need in order to work on the same level as IT experts during your day-to-day project work.

At the core of this profile module is the multi-day case study. During the case study, you and your fellow trainees will devise a group solution for an elaborate task with each individual trainee deployed based on their skills and the focus they have chosen. You will also be given the opportunity to try out other roles as well. You can look forward not only to a professional challenge, but this practice project will also give you an intensive inside look at the workflows and project approach models used in day-to-day work at msg.

At the end of phase 1, a group final workshop will give you the opportunity to share your experiences to date and to present the results of the case study.

Project deployment (on-the-job training)

During phase 2 of your trainee program you will spend most of your time in projects with your department where you will gradually grow into your role as a business consultant. You will be supported by your superior and your fellow project members as well as your central trainee program contact.

During phase 2, you will see your fellow trainees in regular meetings or networking events.

Qualification (near-the-job training)

When it comes to your personal growth, phase 2 gets you off to a good start:

You will work with your superior to create a training package that is perfectly customized for you. You can put your package together using training courses from either our internal training catalog or external trainings.

A generous credit budget will be at your disposal for your individual growth plan, which you independently spend on different activities (each training, whether external or internal, costs a certain number of credits).

This allows you to accumulate further industry and project know-how during phase 2 as well, preparing you for your first digitalization projects.

The perfect start in IT consulting is waiting for you! Apply for our PROFESSIONAL START program now!

What else you should know about our trainee program

What do I need to bring to the table?

If you have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, excellent analytical skills and are a team player, then you already have some great qualifications. You should naturally be proactive and enjoy working as a consultant. Feel free to apply even if you are coming from an unrelated field! IT skills are not mandatory for applicants to the business program.
