Access to well-educated experts; proximity not just to one, but three institutes of higher education offering solid educations; and the booming IT scene in Saxony – there were many strong arguments in favor of founding an msg location in Chemnitz in 1998 – and they are even stronger today.

The location now has over 100 employees, whose main focus is on developing software products, projects for technical or specialty systems and IT and business consulting. Our many renowned customers come from both the German-speaking and the international insurance industry, as well as from the regional public sector. Our company network allows us to work with colleagues from other industries as well, such as automotive and banking. We are further supported by a good dozen of student employees, holding roles as interns, student workers or who are completing their thesis with us. Such opportunities often pave the way for their first career opportunity.

We have enjoyed a long and profound cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences of Mittweida and we have worked closely with the Technical University of Chemnitz and the University of Applied Sciences of Zwickau for many years as well, including at trade fairs, lecturing, study trips or regional commitments.

Chemnitz is a good place to work: our offices are located on the second and third floors of a modern office building – close to downtown, right next to the city park and a creek. With its modern furnishings and equipment, it offers a very pleasant work environment. We have appealing places to withdraw for internal meetings or a small break, which we commonly refer to our “oases”. Thanks to our proximity to downtown, we have many options for our lunch breaks. Our location is also well connected to public transportation. Many of our colleagues ride their bikes to work and take advantage of our “bicycle safe” in the underground parking garage.

The attractiveness of this location is reflected in our minimal employee turnover and the duration of employment with us, as well as in the high number of new hires and our sustainable growth. Not to mention the fact that the founders of the location still work here on site with us in Chemnitz.

We live according to the principle of “together and with one another” and the friendly and familiar atmosphere here portrays that. Our hours are flexible, we support open and honest communication and place a high value on know-how sharing within and between out teams. The annual holiday party or our shared team events also contribute to our “feeling of we”. We also enjoy doing things together after work as well. Many of our colleagues participate in the corporate challenge run in Chemnitz, go biking together or compete in “bowling championships”. We are also actively involved in the company’s social projects.

Chemnitz is a city of many faces. With 248,000 residents, it is the fourth largest city in Eastern Germany and one of the leading technology hot spots in Germany. From a landscape and cultural perspective, Chemnitz is the “gateway to the Ore Mountains” and is close to the cities of Dresden and Leipzig, which means the city has a lot to offer its inhabitants and tourists. As a “Modern City”, Chemnitz enjoys an excellent scientific and research environment, which is characterized by its open-mindedness, sense of tradition and spirit of invention.
