That I enjoyed working on-site at customer locations and that my forte lay in consulting were something I was able to figure out during my studies when I was involved in a student-based consultancy. Thus, upon completing my degree in information management, I joined a mid-sized IT consultancy. To further expand my professional horizon, I later switched to a subsidiary of a globally active strategy consultancy that focused on technology and implementation expertise.
The name msg was one I was familiar with from the Lünendonk list, where it had been named one of the lead IT consulting and system integration companies in Germany. So when a recruiter suggested I submit my profile to msg, I was curious. I looked up the company’s homepage, read up on the company’s values and found the information to be very appealing.
The first personal contact I had with msg was during the application process. Right from the start I was impressed by the employees I encountered, they were extremely professional and the conversation during my interview took place at a high level and revealed considerable expertise. What I found particular positive is how serious the company values of reliability and credibility are taken. Those are also important to me personally, as they are values I already considered key success factors. The entire process convinced me that msg would be a reliable partner that was a good fit for my professional future and a company I would be happy to be part of.
In November 2015, I joined msg’s XQT Cross Division. I find working for different and interesting industries fascinating and appreciate the fact that I can apply my knowledge. I am currently working as Test Manager in the Public Sector division, where I am responsible for a 13-person test team. Within the project my tasks include defining the test methods, test strategy, test planning, reporting and managing the test team.
What intrigued me about my work at msg from the very beginning was the opportunity to be actively involved in promoting exciting new topics and the fact that I was entrusted with responsibility. For example, one of msg’s main focal points is the forward-looking topic of digital transformation. This gives me the opportunity to be actively involved in shaping the topic, growing know-how and exchanging ideas and opinions with other experts.
However, the interesting work and topics are just one side of things. What I also love is the collaboration that takes place in dynamic and dedicated teams. The positive team atmosphere and the cohesion within the test team are what keep us motivated day in and day out. They are the basis that helps us realize successful projects. Through open and honest communication we allow one another to develop alongside our work and to grow both professionally and personally. Finally, another aspect that I appreciate is my ability to realize my passion for quality and for project management, which keeps my daily work interesting and diverse.
